Miss Julia...
Past Production - November 1995
by August Stindberg
Translation by Peter Watts
Directed by Mary Hernandez
The action takes place in Midsummer Eve of 1888, in the kitchen of the
Count's country house.
Director's Notes: Each generation feels it has unique
issues to address and conquer. Each individual wants to simply belong and be
loved. Some people struggle to rise in a class system, while those at the
top may long for a simpler life. How we live and die is determined by
society.
This play, written in the late 1800's, revolves around issues of love,
class, and gender. Thereby, making it as true today as when it was initially
performed. Strindberg shows us how people struggle to live...and die. We
thank you for coming and allowing us to present the work of this genius.
